Since our first Summit in 2011, the Nordic-African Business Summit has become the place to be for business people focusing on Africa.
2023
The Nordic-African Business Summit 2023 took place at the Grand Hotel, Oslo, on September 5th. Under the theme of a World In Flux, it convened business and policy leaders to consider Africa's role in a rapidly changing global geopolitical and economic context.
2022
In 2022, the Nordic-African Business Summit brought together 250 international business and policy leaders under the theme of ‘Delivering Impact’, with an emphasis on actionable dialogue to drive investment and growth on the continent.
2020
African business meets Nordic counterparts in what will be this year’s most useful digital platform to reconnect and re-engage with the continent. Meet business executives, experts, politicians and benefit from their insight on what the future holds for business between the Nordic countries and Africa.
2019
This year we will dive into topics such as the new continental free trade area (the world’s second largest trade agreement), learn how companies navigate uncertainty, finance, energy, agri-tech, technology and security – to mention some.
2018
“The Blue Opportunity” is the overall topic this year. Nordic companies are well positioned to take part in Africa’s sustainable blue opportunity, especially in the maritime and energy sector. About 90 % of Africa’s imports and exports are conducted by sea.
2017
“Investing in Africa’s transition – how, not why?” is the overall topic this year. The private sector plays an important part in the continent’s transition, and we believe Nordic companies should and could pay more attention.
2016
“Investing in Africa’s Growing Cities” is the overall topic this year. By focusing this year’s conference on the continent’s fast growing cities, we hope our distinguished speakers will help you navigate the many business opportunities this strong urbanization creates.
2015
This year’s Summit theme is “Linking Nordic Capabilities with African Opportunities”. Africa’s future economy host the world’s youngest, most rapidly urbanising population - transforming the economy and driving consumer growth.
2014
This year’s Summit theme is “Mapping the African Infrastructure Landscape”. Developing infrastructure helps businesses thrive and economies to flourish. Investment in infrastructure accounts for over half of the recent economic growth in Africa.
2013
The topic for this year’s Summit is “Breaking down Barriers: How to Succeed on the African Continent”. There are always barriers when investing in new markets, but we hope you will leave this conference with good ideas and practical insights on how they can be overcome. And, not least, that you will be more inspired to invest and open business in the many growth markets of Africa.
